The Medallion Reads: "Fyens Stifts Patriotiske Selskab" Pictorial Side: "F. Schmahfield F. V. Christesen"
Translation and History: "Fyens Stifts Patriotiske Selskab" translates to "Fyens Stifts Patriotic Company" which is now known as Patriotisk Selskab, a Danish agricultural association founded on 11th July 1810. In the period 1855-1902, the association ran its own agricultural school. Today, it is an agricultural consulting company that advises professional agricultural companies throughout the country.
The association was founded on Funen after the English Wars for "with the general spirit and power to promote true and beneficial industry in the rural economy, in the manufacturing and factory industry, in fisheries and other branches of production, to eradicate wrong concepts, to fight against prejudice..." and " to arouse, reward, nurture, and promote in both sexes of all estates, industriousness, windiness, useful frugality, and respect for the country's own creations. "
